Forgiveness is one of the Graces that we strive to incorporate in our lives. We work hard at forgiving others. We are even proud of ourselves for it. Forgiving ourselves on the other hand, can be an entirely different story.
How would you respond if a friend came to you lamenting about something that had happened in the past ~ going on about the mistakes they have made, how terrible they feel, “if they could only go back…” ? You would tell them that it was the past. That everyone makes mistakes. That they’ve learned from them.
Most of us however, don’t afford ourselves the same degree of forgiveness. We go over our mistakes, picking them apart, examining every detail, berating ourselves again and again. Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda… Stop looking back. You can’t change the past. And even if you could, you would have missed the lesson. Every misstep, every stumble, every fall has brought you to the place where you are now. Love yourself enough to say “It’s okay. It was in the past. We are going forward wiser and stronger.” Forgive yourself, step out of the shadow of self doubt and into the Light.
Praying you are all blessed this Valentine’s Day with Love and Light.
AFFIRMATION FOR THE HEART AND SOUL:
I am Loved. I am worthy of forgiveness from all, including myself. This day I will go forward stronger, wiser and boldly in the knowledge that I am a child of the Goddess and God.
