JOURNAL PROMPT 2/28/13

We are beings of Light. You to not “have” a spirit. You “are” a spirit. You live in a body. We are learning to feed our spirits, exercise them, strengthen them. And sometimes, in the search for a stronger spiritual life, we forget about the physical aspect of our being… or, if not forget, we let it slide. I’ve been sliding a bit lately…

When you have a home, in order to continue living in it you must tend to it. There is maintenance to be done. Cleaning, checking out the wiring, plumbing, etc. If something is wrong, no matter how small the problem, ignoring it generally leads to bigger messes ~ sometime disastrous ones.

The same can be said of your physical body. Look at yourself in the mirror. This is your home. Literally a gift from the Goddess and God. It is You in the physical ~ with all the flaws and imperfections ~ a wondrous unique completely original You. You would diligently care for an original Picasso or Monet ~ you are no less precious. Within you is a Divine Spark. (How precious is that!?)

How are you caring for the home you were given? Do you treat it like a priestess would a temple, or do you behave like a rock star in a hotel room? Perhaps it is time to rethink our care and maintenance plan. Don’t misunderstand me, I’m not suggesting anyone go on a diet or join a gym…
I’m certainly not! What I am suggesting is to go forward, day by day and treat our body, our earthly home with the respect and reverence it deserves.

Bright Blessings,
A

AFFIRMATION FOR THE HEART AND SOUL:
My Lady and Lord has blessed my spirit with a home. It is a beautiful original creation, and from this day forward I will treat it with care, with love, respect and reverence.
